Vampire Weekend (Makeup Blog)

I first discovered Vampire Weekend when I was in eight grade. People got back from ACL and so many people were talking about and wearing their shirts. (Which by the way was sooooo cute. I wish I got one)
So that night I listened to a couple of their songs like Holiday and I Think Ur A Contra and I kinda liked it. I thought Holiday was super catchy and I would catch myself humming it. I Think Ur A Contra was relaxing but a little boring.

Fast forward like a few more months and I'm in Hollister and I hear this super chill song and I'm like whaaaat. It really stuck out to me because usually Hollister has the most headache inducing songs. So I took out my phone and shazamed it and I was really surprised that it was by Vampire Weekend! Then a few seconds later the manager came up to me and asked me "Do you go to school near here? Are you interested in a job? How old are you?" (I was almost fifteen lol) At that exact moment I decided this was going to be my lucky song.

So when I got home I played it non-stop. It was repeat 24/7. I fell asleep to it and I woke up to it. I was seriously obsessed. My parents probably wanted to kill themselves. But yeah, It made me want to try Horchate so badly. (I later had it at a kite festival and almost threw up ugh) I took 3 test during that week and I aced every single one. I was convinced this was my lucky song.

Then my phone got stolen on that Friday. Everything along with my obsession with that song was gone. The only reason I'm blogging about it today is because it was mentioned in class and flashbacks came.

Lana Del Rey

Yet another blog post about Lana! I can't get over her songs though! Even if I ever did want to stop listening to her, I wouldn't be able to escape her. She is E V E R Y W H E R E. Everyone tweets about how perfect she is, they instagram pictures her face with the caption "omfg shes perf" or "why can't i be her?!" and/or I see the little spotify notification on facebook of songs that they're currently listening to her.

I don't know If I already said this but her album Born To Die Paradise Edition is sooooo good. I can't stop listening to her on repeat. I love how she drags out her voice. It makes her very unique from other singers.
My favorites Blue Velvet, Cola, and Serial Killer. I am currently listening to Serial Killer on repeat. Her voice sounds soooo amazing in it.

The Ramones

They were bad and good if that's even possible. I would listen to it if it was playing but I wouldn't necessary go and download it. I couldn't really understand them but they were really, really catchy. I didn't stop humming it until Friday :morning. All their songs kinda sound the same though. Also I had no idea they were American because they sound very British and at times I couldn't understand them at all. The only song that I knew by The Ramones is 'Hey Ho, Let's Go'.

Seventh Grade Music

This week I went back to my seventh grade playlist and I almost died. I listened to the weirdest things. Everything is about death, cannibals, and murder. I liked bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot and I would buy their shirts from Hot Topic.
wtf was I thinking

Anyways the most repeated song I have from my playlist is a song by Avenged Sevenfold called A Little Piece Of Heaven. It is nine minutes long and super duper creepy! It's about a guy who kills a girl so she can't reject his hand in marriage. He stabs her and then proceeds to do her corpse. The girl comes back as like a zombie thing and stabs him and they both go to hell and get married. Like I said it was weird and I was creepy. The awkward thing is I would sing this aloud.

watch this video if you're not easily creeped out
but if you are then awkwarrrrd

Led Zeppelin

One guy looked like Blake Anderson from Workaholics
I didn't really like what we were watching in class today. It was kinda boring. They sung the entire time and didn't really do anything else. It was also really loud at times and it gave me a really bad headache.
