Joesph Levitt Gordon
jesus cray I never knew JLG was a singer! I just discovered this gem on imgur earlier this week. I found a cover of him singing Ignition by R. Kelly this week. I love how he can go from low to super high when he sings "down to the show, its the hotel party and after the party its the hotel lobby". I love how he starts super slow and the ends really fast.
He changed the lyrics and the length.
Johnny Cash
I never really listen to Johnny Cash before we heard it in class. When I played I Walk The Line in the car for my dad he was like oh I love Johnny Cash! I was like wat. My dad and I both agree we love his deep deep voice.
I really like Folsom Prison Blues. I like the beat.
I would consider Johnny Cash country.

The Funeral by Band of Horses
Kinzy showed me this song a long time ago but I remember when she showed it to me all excitedly, I was like mehhhhh.
I have recently rediscovered it. I was watching Gossip Girl and all of a sudden I hear "I'm coming up only to hold you under..." but in a girl's voice and I'm thinking this sounds oddly familiar but not quite. So I paused the video and I think about it trying to make it click when all of a sudden I think OMG GOOGLE! So I goggled it and it was The Funeral but it was a cover so that's why it didn't click right away! So then I went to original version and I have been listening to it on repeat for the past break.
I like Serena Ryder's version a lot as well because her voice really makes this sad for me which the Band of Horse doesn't. Don't get me wrong I love the original it just doesn't make me want to tear up.
Since then I have heard this on numerous shows like How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill, Criminal Minds and 90210.

White Album
Jeebus I love this album! I recognized a lot of songs and I liked the songs that I didn't know!
I already love the song Honey Pie and Blackbird. If I had to pick my new favorites for this song they would be
This sounds really different them what I usually expect from the Beatles! It's very short because there's like 2 lines but I love Paul's voice, it seriously blows me away.
This song is breathtakingly beautiful and sad at the same time. Sean showed me this song a long time and I just recently discovered it again. I looked up Julia to see if it was about anyone and it said that the song is written about John's mom Julia. (She died in a car crash)
On a less serious note I like this song because it's very soft at the beginning, the pig's oinks are cute and I think I hear a tambourine! It also reminds me of Disney a little.

Christmas Music
I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet but I am already playing Christmas music! Everyone gets pissed off at early holiday music but I love it! It sets the tone for the upcoming month. It gets colder, Starbucks has their holiday drinks and red cups, Christmas lights are up and it's sweater season! It's great.
The reason I like Christmas music so much is because its feel good music. It makes you feel happy and warm. It makes you think of a warm fireplace, hot cocoa and your family. It rocks my socks.
Below I have my all time Christmas favorites.
I love that the Chris sounds very feminine in this one!
Her voice is ahhhhhmazingggggggggggggggg
My favorite Christmas movie and song
My mom plays this to get us all pumped to decorate the house
I think it all depends on how your family is. If they play it 24/7, then you will learn to embrace it completely. If you haven't then you will get annoyed of it because there's like 20 Christmas songs that play over and over. I love Christmas music no matter what though.

Covers that completely change songs (Makeup Blog #2)
I love it when I first listen to songs and have no idea that it's a cover of a pop song or rap song or whatever. It's something you only experience once. You get surprised and you're like wow!
When I was watching X-factor two years ago this girl Dia Frampton sang Heartless by Kanye West. I have no idea what it was until she sang "how could she be so heartless". That's when it all clicked and I was like WOWZA THIS FREAKING ROCKS. I was blown away! The cover was 72346723784234 times better than the original!
I couldn't find the video on the blogger youtube selecter so I'll just include the link.

This is the original song by Kanye.
How amazing is her voice? You think it's a totally original song at the beginning!
Then there's this song called Whatever You Like by T.I and it's an alright song but I like the paordy version of it that Weird Al did but that's not the point. The point is I was watching Gossip Girl and then I hear this song but with a girl's voice. My reaction was like the Dia Frampton song! I like it! But then she sings "you can have whatever you like" and I'm like OHHHHHHHHH. I love her version! Her voice is so beautiful!
It is so addicting!
After you hear the Anya version this just doesn't compare!
P.S
I just wanted to include this in there but I really love Dia Frampton's cover of Pursuit Of Happiness.
It's so adorable and both Meg and Dia's voices together are AMAZING!

My Art Teacher (Makeup Blog #1)
My art teacher is Ms. Rowland and she rocks! Whenever we draw in her class she always plays music, usually I have my headphones in but today my phone died so I had to sit there trying not to kill myself. All of a sudden I hear Bohemian Rhapsody and I'm like heck yes! At first I thought I was imagining it but then I realized it was coming from her speakers. So then when she came by she I asked her if she liked Queen and she said "of course I do!". A W E SO M E
After that song Bicycle Race, Killer Queen, I Want To Break Free, Fat Bottom Girls and I had a jam session in the corner by myself. So many judgmental glares but whatever. Now she plays Queen every class and it pretty awesome. She's also a fan of the Beatles!
Unfortunately in that class I have Swagfags and all they do is whine about her music and blast Lil Wayne or Drake from their Beats. (I know this because I can hear it and they wear those shirts) I get that they have catchy beats but music isn't just about it!

Dana Falconberry
Today me and Kinzy went to downtown Waterloo to watch her concert because it was F R E E! I can't pass up a free concert!
I took a picture of her album cover but it was blurry so I'm using this from google images. The album in real life is gorgeous and it's made out of cardboard. She also has a record version and it looks amazing.
Mr.A you were totally right. She is amazing. If I could describe her voice it would be very gentle and soothing. It's gorgeous! And she's gorgeous! Why do some people get all the luck?
Her music makes me think of my childhood and running around. It's very nostalgic.
I am in love with Crooked River.

The version on her website sounds better though.
Run little crooked river, run
Down the mountainside from whence you've come
Never turn around to look behind me
Travel safe and swiftly through the pine trees
Run little crooked river, run
(hum)
Flow little crooked river, flow
Never mind which way the wind will blow
Keep a steady pace about your course
Overtake each pass but use no force
Flow little crooked river flow
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
oh, oh
Rush little crooked river, rush
In between the elms and through the brush
Carry sticks and twigs upon your back
Tumble, turn and loose no track
Rush little crooked river rush
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
oh, oh
Wind little crooked river, wind
Wind until the open sea you find
Marvel your arrival in the clean air
Do take time to breathe in when you get there
Wind little crooked river, wind
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Down the mountainside from whence you've come
Never turn around to look behind me
Travel safe and swiftly through the pine trees

I love it when she hums and the lyrics are so poetic. It's a good use of repetition.
I don't really like her album Sailboat album with the song Leave In The Middle of The Night. It sounds really different and I like the songs from Leelanau better.
In Mapple Leaf Red, I love the whistling in the beginning and how she uses objects to describe colors like robin-egg-blue.
I think I will add all her songs from Leelanau to my falling asleep playlist.
If you have never heard of her I suggest you check her out on tumblr. You can listen to the songs there.
Kinzy and I also got a picture with her!
Looking a little rough but whatever
P.S I ALSO GOT THE BEST BURGER EVER DOWNTOWN AT HUTT'S BURGERS. It was almost as good as In-N-Out but nothing can compare to that! (Since there was a discussion on burgers today and I almost died from starvation)
Magical Mystery Tour
I love this album! It's so trippy. The song that I knew before we listened to this in class were "I am the Walrus", "Hello Goodbye" (Doesn't everybody?) "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Penny Lane", and "All You Need is Love". After listening I discovered new favorites from this album.
My original favorites are
I was so obsessed with this song that I made this my phone wallpaper.
All the times I've listened to this song, I never knew the Eggman was a real person. When you told us he was cracking eggs on her while doing her from behind I snorted so hard. I swear I'm part pig.
This makes me feel like I'm floating.
I have a new found favorite
They look so cute going down the stairs ahhh
"Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before your mother was born"
I love how they sing that line!
